We Built Digital Literacy Expertise. Now We're Sharing It.

Most conversations about social media and disability start from a place of caution: privacy risks, scams, oversharing. Those conversations matter. But they can miss something we're increasingly seeing in our own work: for the creators we partner with, social media can be less a risk to guard against and more a genuine pathway to connection.

No Two Workshops Look the Same.

Some focus on online safety, where fellows might share their own experience with a phishing text they nearly fell for, or a loved one who was targeted, turning an abstract warning into a real story with a real solution. Others lean into the creative side: video editing, posting from a place of authenticity, and other fun, hands-on elements that make a session feel less like a lecture and more like a studio. Whatever the focus, fellows draw people into conversation and get them practicing directly: filming, editing, role-playing, and trying things out for themselves.

A Win on Both Sides of the Room

Leading a workshop also builds fellows' own public speaking skills, video production experience, and media portfolio, on top of the paid opportunity. And for the organizations hosting them, it's a chance to build disability confidence, learning directly from a person with disabilities rather than about them. It's digital literacy for the room, and real skill-building, expertise-sharing, and connection for the fellows leading it.
